STYLE N PROFILE WSRR TESTIMONIAL
"You won't find a harder-working artist than Jet Star. She is always writing, mixing, working on album art, or promoting in some fashion. Whether she's headlining at a major venue in the Cleveland music scene or playing at a house show, you always get the same dedication with each performance. On top of that, Jet is always taking every opportunity she can to dedicate her time to her craft, often performing multiple shows at multiple locations in one night. She is always eager to do press even if it's after a show or first thing in the morning. She is a great representation of how dedicated musicians can be to their work."

Bio
Jet began composing at an early age. Inspired by the music she was raised on, and abstract watercolor paintings permeating sheet music in her first piano bench, combining the feelings of the images with earworms she had memorized to fill the spaces between toddler mania. Her original compositions were more classical in nature, but expanded to electronic music in 2011 when she discovered the magic of garage band. Equipped with theory from Julie mangino, a few lessons from Jackie Warren, a Casio, and her newfound love for ukelele and production she began making music several times a day. She kept most of her musings private throughout life as she continued learning the nature of sound through her exploration of acapella in high school. She attributes her ability to mix by ear namely to learning and performing multi part acapella music in mixed formation with the Cleveland heights choirs.
Out of high school she had plans to become an art teacher, but a lifetime of l planning fell short when she became deathly ill a little over a month in to college at Kent state. Facing the first of a few near death experiences forced a change in perspective that jumpstarted her music career. She continued to create music between finishing assignments, and had found a friend group of other odd minstrels to wander about and create music with. However, Unable to attend classes regularly, she could not continue schooling, and shortly after that- Covid hit.
JWhile Ill, she realized she’d spent her entire life doing what she was “supposed” to be doing. Good grades, sports, job, clubs, etc. she reflected on a life lived small, not fully enjoyed, stuffing down dreams that seemed too big, entertaining everything as a means to an end that wasn’t a personal priority. Covid gave people time to think, to detach from social norms and cultural monotony, and the embodied attachment to an old way of being. This was perfect timing to go deep and begin meaningful entrepreneurship, or to use up unadulterated creative time. Jet’s health wasn’t in the clear, so while expecting to not make it through the summer, she decided to create a body of work that would last beyond her. A message to the world on her grain of sand that would help others to learn what she had learned in her short time alive, hopefully preventing others from living out of alignment as she felt she had, and urging others to see the world with new eyes. Luckily, her first show as JET STAR would happen the day after her projected end. Death and rebirth.
Jet Star has spent the last six years tirelessly building her career. Combining her love for the arts, supporting the local scene, and sating her creative prowess by any means necessary she has grown into a solid figure within the community. She is constantly performing, practicing, creating merchandise, promoting for herself and others, and creating new work be it art or music, all culminating into a large body of work with a motif that is at its core - her.
Jet Star is the representation of who she could be if she lived without fear, her most confident self, the embodiment of potential reached, and each step creates opportunity for deeper integration. Her personal spiritual path has gone hand in hand with her artistic development, and continues to help lead her down a path of her highest fulfillment. Her music has helped her heal from a lifetime of bullying and purposeful misunderstanding, CPTSD, mental and physical health issues, and to form a healthier self concept. By using art as an agent of transmutation, it’s served as a form of therapy as well as a way to rebuild the self from a more authentic place, and each step taken crystalizes a brighter reality into truth. In doing so, she has also discovered new ways to use her platform to speak on the issues alchemized in her music and art, to help and inform others who find themselves in a similar place, or simply to educate the world on important facets and principalities of her own life and growth.
